July 4th Weekend!

Isn't July 4th the best. It is during the summer so you have great opportunities to celebrate outside. My favorite place. It is a great holiday that we all should reflect upon this year and be thankful to all those men and women who work so hard to ensure our Independence.

This country is the greatest, yet I think so many take it for granted. So many generations have made this such a wonderful country. Each has worked hard in its own way to ensure we are a great and powerful country. But it has not been until recently that I am starting to worry about the future of this country. Are we, or the current and up and coming generations been raised to be too materialistic to look beyond the things they want and sell us out as a country. Nothing as far as I am concerned will ever replace hard work and independence! A friend of mine told me years ago, she felt we only owed our children two things, an education and the talents and lessons to be independent. Oh how true, but if we give our children everything will they be that? If our country gives and gives who will be the workers of tomorrow? My generation is a very self made generation and our children have such great benefits from it. I just hope it does not impair their independence.

On this 4th of July weekend, spend time with friends and family, and celebrate the wonderful gift we have as a nation - independence. Happy 4th of July. Diane
