Life Is So Short

Last week was really tough. I had two childhood friends pass away. In addition, a dear friend of mine lost her brother. That week really made me appreciate my past and the present.

How lucky I was to have such a great childhood. We lived in a middleclass neighborhood with a lot of kids. Every family had at least 4 or 5 children. We did not have much, but we had a great time and some great memories. Visiting the funeral home made me realize how fast time goes by and how quickly it can all be gone.

I am so greatful for what I have and where I am. My past helped mold my future. I think we often get so busy and don't connect with others as much as we should, or wish we should. It was a sad wake up call for me. There are a lot of things that need to get done around my house, etc, but they can wait, the people in my life may not wait or be there tomorrow.

Today I am so thankful for today - and all the people in it, those I see today and those I don't.
