I know it takes two to make a relationship work. And most times the difference in the personalities is what adds spice and makes the relationship keep from getting stale. But sometimes the difference between a person who is always looking at the glass as half empty vs the other person always looking at the glass as half full can really be trying for the person who always looks at most situations as the glass as half full.
Good lord, does everything have to be a challenge?! Life is what it is, take it and go on. For pity sake, I get so tired of those around who always look at things as Eeyore from Winnie the Pooh! Someone near and dear to me is that way. It seems so many times that he has a load on his back from taking everything on as "the next job" or "the next problem". I, well, I just see it as the next item in life.
Don't get me wrong there is a lot of stuff that I don't like or want to do. But looking at everyday tasks as something positive is so much more healthy.
Just like packing up after vacation. Why does that have to be negative? Perhaps it is his way of dealing with the goodbyes and the end. I just look at it as a time to relive the memories in my mind as I pack. Packing after vacation is o.k., especially when it has been fun, why can't packing be fun too? I am just grateful I have something to pack, a place over my head, healthy kids we enjoy, etc. So many people in this world do not have all of this. So even the simple, somewhat boring tasks are not bad for me. The glass if half full, and always ready to be filled with more!!!
We all have those "Ah, Ha" moments in our lives. I am so glad I had mine several years ago. Looking most challenges in life from a positive stand point has really helped me weather some real challenges. I believe it has even helped turned some potentially bad issues into positive or helped them go away.
As I sit here and watch the sun come up over the horizon, I am so grateful for this day and all the work ahead. The only time I really worry about the glass being half empty most days any more is when my wine glass is getting low, now that always seems to be a glass half empty! Cheers to today, all my blessings and being blessed to be born in this great country. Have a half full day!! I know I will.
