Choices. It is so important as a woman today to have choices. It may be something to do with our health, that hormone and menopause thing is a biggie. Or it could be something like skin care, clothing, or where to eat for dinner. But I think having choices, the ability to select what is right for you is so important.
I know there was a time where my groceries, skin care and sometimes my clothes all came from the same store. Just because I had too many demands on my time and it filled the bill. But now that I am older and have more time for me, I want choices and make the right selections for me. We try to find items and info to put on the site that gives our readers that. It is basically Kim and I seeking info to share, but at least it is not one sided. Too often many of the big companies and promoters are just that.
It really concerns me how many women do not look into the various choices about their health. Hormones are such a big concern today. As a woman over 50 I probably did not make the best choices in the past about my health. But over the past 10 years I have tried to do much better in that area. The Internet sure helps. But I have to say probably the best referrals I get are from my girlfriends. My sister called me today about a doctor and I said, let me call Gail, she always knows the best doctors. See, a girlfriend to the rescue. We need to make good choices. Our health is so important.
I have to say I was impressed the other day. An article popped up on my email from More magazine about the latest update on hormone therapy and were they still saying it is not good. I thought o.k., let's see what they say to women now. But I have to say it was honest. It did not mention bio identicals, but it was being honest about the dangers of HRT. Many women do not realize there are choices to their health.
It is always interesting to hear other's stories and their experiences. And it helps you make choices. Now, I have the hormone thing under control, what I need is more info on botox! Have an opinion or info you want to share with other women? Share it on our Talking to Girlfriends forum. It is anonymous and not complex at all like some forums. Very simple, some topics are already established under our major sections, but you can start a new one at any time. It's your choice.

Stumbled across your blog via google and like what I've found! Glad to see you taking a stand with finding out more before making a decision with HRT. For other women trying to make up their mind, here are two resources that were particularly helpful to me:

(Test your menopause IQ)
and

(perspectives on the risks of HRT)
I look forward to reading more here!
