The best anti-wrinkle cream!

I was flipping through a magazine the other day and this title caught my eye. I am always looking at what the latest creams etc are on the market. But as I read further, I discovered the item was getting your attention to get you to use sun screen.

Well the title did get my attention, but I am already an avid sun screen user. And I am here to say it does delay wrinkles and other aging of your skin.

Several years ago a co-worker mentioned to others in the office it was my birthday. Someone was walking through the office at the time and he said, oh, it is? Let me guess your age? I said, o.k. Well he walked over to me and said, let me see your hands. I thought that was a strange request. He then guessed my age, which was much younger than I was. Well, any man that does that when it comes to age is smart. But he went on to say, boy your hands don't show any signs of age at all!

Believe it or not, one place I have always put sun screen, is my hands. I am 54 and I have NO age spots on my hands. I have had several comments from others about that too. In fact, I was at a beauty open house a local spa sponsored and they now do hand treatments for women whose hands no longer look pretty from overexposure to sun etc. Wow, that is one expense I don't have to endure to keep my youthful look!!

But seriously I always use sunscreen. May women think sunning their face looks good, but it does so much damage to your face. And as time goes by the wrinkles will intensify and your skin will begin to look older and worse than you really are.

We recently spent two weeks in the Bahamas and southern Florida. I was constantly putting on sunscreen with SPF 30. And you know what? You can tan even when you use SPF 30! I can really get by with SPF 15 but I did not want to get sunburn and we were out in the sun every day. A bad sunburn can ruin a vacation.

Years ago my daughter was in marching band and the director said that sunburn was no excuse from practice. So she too became an avid sun screen user. And you know what? She always had a tan, and never had a burn.

One of the women on vacation with us had a cool product. It is a tinted sunscreen for your face. And it is SPF 41! It is nice, especially for women like me who like to walk and do a lot of races etc. You can put on sunscreen and you look like you have a light layer of makeup on. I like it, it is a elta MD Skincare product. The item is UV Physical, SPF 41. There are so many products out there you just need to find the right one. I also like the Obagi sun screen for my face, it is great too.

But you know what? Expensive is not always the answer. One of the sunscreens we liked the best this past vacation was the No-Ad sun screen. A friend of mine said the a dermatologist recommended that brand to her mother. And to be honest, it feels great on your skin, not real heavy. Of course there are dozens of sunscreens that are great. I went in a drugstore in Florida and could not believe the assortment of sunscreen they had on display. My husband caught up with me in the store and asked what was I doing? I said nothing, I just had never seen so many different type sunscreens on display before and was just looking! It was from top to bottom shelf and the shelves where about 15 feet long! They had every type, and many I had never heard of. It was crazy!

Well so much for my "use your sun screen" blog. Hey if it keeps the wrinkles away I am all for it. Years ago I heard that running caused your face to sag faster. That was all I needed to firm up my committed dislike of running. I didn't enjoy running and anything that speeds the aging process is off my list! Have a safe summer, be safe, and be smart in the sun.
