I so often think, what would I do without my friends. I love those cards for friends like, we will be friends forever, you know too much about my past! But you know, so many are so true in a way. Our good friends do stick with us, despite all our flaws. And they are there even if it has been weeks since you last had time to talk. I find many of my friends saying they are telling their grown daughters and nieces to make time for their friends. I think many of us in my generation look back and wish we had made more time with friends. I love those women who still have groups going since high school, even if they only see one another once a month. It is their time to be together, laugh and have fun. Even now that I am a empty Nester, I still struggle with making time for friends, this is crazy. I find now though, that time is my priority, not something last on the list. I have made so many new friends in the past year. Many are women younger than me. It is so exciting to see young women today with so much talent and succeeding in so many ways. You go girl.
I have so many friends who have succeeded in so many ways. So many I admire in different ways. Strength, courage, independence. I wish they could all meet one another. That was such a big reason my best friend and I starting Bikinis and Bifocals - to bring women together and provide connections that make a difference. It is funny the way we so often organize events with speakers etc, but when you get a room full of women, you really don't need that, women are so dynamic in being together, naturally sharing stories, having a good time. I love getting together with my friends - it is so energizing.
